Good morning from Berlin!

Barbara Mai and Matthias Kliesch from Nordwest Assekuranzmakler GmbH & Co. KG represented the AquaConsult consortium at the summer reception of the German Renewable Energy Federation (Bundesverband Erneuerbare Energie e.V. (BEE).

While Europe is achieving record levels of renewable generation—with solar power now surpassing coal—the path forward is filled with challenges. Massive grid bottlenecks, underinvestment in infrastructure, and the urgent need for long-duration storage threaten to slow down the pace of the energy transition.

Offshore wind and hydrogen are key solutions to these challenges—precisely the fields where AquaConsult operates.

Offshore energy systems have the potential to deliver large-scale green hydrogen and stable, resilient clean power. But realizing these projects requires more than ambition—it demands expertise, cross-sector collaboration, and the ability to navigate complex regulatory and technical landscapes.

AquaConsult brings together comprehensive knowledge in offshore wind and hydrogen, hands-on project experience, and the strategic foresight to help accelerate the transition. The success of the energy shift will depend on breaking down silos and building partnerships across industries and supply chains.

Organisations active in offshore wind, hydrogen, or grid innovation are invited to connect.
